PROJECT FOCUS
EUROPE
Datacenter.com, an international carrier-neutral
data centre-as-a-service company, announced it
has completed phase II of its Datacenter.com AMS1
data centre. The expansion was necessary due to the
strong demand from domestic and international enterprise
and cloud computing customers looking to reduce IT
infrastructure costs. The data centre floor area of Datacenter.
com AMS1 has been increased by 30% to 1,800 square
metres (approx. 19,400 square feet). This has created room
for an additional 250 cabinets. An additional 1.5 megawatt
of power supply has been realised. Phase II of this
carrier-neutral data centre facility is now available for
existing and new customers.
AFRICA
Zenlayer and MainOne have partnered to expand
connectivity between international companies and West
Africa. As an edge cloud provider with a global private
backbone and far-reaching connections, Zenlayer will pave the
way for businesses to seamlessly connect with West Africa’s
technological hub in Nigeria. MDXi Lekki, MainOne’s Tier III
data centre in Lagos, will be the primary point of presence
(PoP) for these connections. It will provide quick entry
and scale-up opportunities for international companies
looking to establish a presence in West Africa.
