NEWS Vox enhances cloud assessment service ntegrated ICT and infrastructure provider Vox has automated its cloud assessment service to provide clients with a more cost-effective and transparent way of transitioning to a cloud environment. I The assessment is done across the entire ICT infrastructure of a business environment. It examines all the physical devices connected on-site, the size of the resources, how much of those are used and what the network looks like. It also examines the application, user, LAN and WAN dependencies to give complete insight into what will be required to migrate to the cloud. “Through this enhanced offering, Vox ensures businesses can run as lean and efficiently as possible when it comes to the cloud. The process was previously manual-driven and by automating it, Vox is delivering a best practice solution at a world-class level,” said Daniel Jacobs, Senior Manager of Cloud Computing at Vox. “We are harnessing the capabilities of multiple sophisticated probing tools.” He added: “By automating the report, Vox can deliver an accurate assessment of not only the ideal cloud environment for the business’s needs, but also exactly what the migration will cost.” Vox also follows a cloud-agnostic approach to ensure clients have the choice of any cloud platform that meets their budget and business requirements. ServerFarm expands European presence erverFarm, an innovative data centre developer and operator, has extended its portfolio with a strategic data centre acquisition in Amsterdam. S The SF AMS1 data centre is home to a number of global enterprises. The facility is highly connected with over 100,000 square feet of available shell space ideal for cloud, low latency and Edge environments. ServerFarm’s second major European location (including SF LON1 in Feltham, London) further expands the company’s portfolio of owned and managed assets in over 75 locations across more than 30 countries. 10 Issue 10 The Dutch Data Center Association’s State of the Dutch Data Centers 2019 report explains that Amsterdam is Europe’s largest hyperscale and colocation market – and grew by 20% in MW in 2018. The Netherlands contains 189 large multi-tenant data centres, the report adds, with about 72% of all Dutch data centres found in the Amsterdam region. “We’re thrilled to offer our clients fast, convenient entry into one of the world’s most critical data centre hubs, which has become a tricky area to tap into due to current market limitations,” said Avner Papouchado, CEO of ServerFarm. In July, Amsterdam and Haarlemmermeer called a moratorium on new data centre builds, according to Bloomberg. www.intelligentdatacentres.com
