PROJECT FOCUS EUROPE Wasabi, a cloud storage company, has announced the opening of its first European data centre based in Amsterdam. The new data centre will accommodate Wasabi’s accelerating growth in the EU region, aiming to bring affordable, fast, enterprise class cloud storage closer to the company’s European customer base. With an EU data centre, European users will be able to access Wasabi’s very short latency times and ease of compliance with GDPR. MIDDLE EAST Khazna Data Center (Khazna), the only dedicated commercial wholesale data centre provider in the UAE, has announced it has received the Tier III Certification of Design Documents (TCDD) from Uptime Institute for its data centres expansion project in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The award recognises that Khazna meets the highest standards for infrastructure functionality and availability and validates that the system design of the facility is consistent with Uptime objectives, in line with international best practice. Khazna currently has two UAE facilities in Meydan, Dubai and Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.
