T has announced a five-year

B contract with Alstom , one of the world ’ s leading providers

of systems , equipment and services for the mobility sector , to upgrade its global network with the latest cloud-optimised connectivity solutions . The new network will connect Alstom ’ s operations at 350 locations in 60 countries , including manufacturing plants , offices , depots and data centres . It will provide agile and secure access to company applications and services used by Alstom ’ s employees , of which 24,000 have been working remotely during the pandemic .
Working with BT consultants using the Smart Transformation process , which aligns the right solutions to business needs , Alstom chose a managed network service based on the VMware SD-WAN solution . It will be delivered by BT over its new digital service platform . improve the company ’ s visibility of network traffic , allowing it to optimise end-user experience . It also includes a range of fully-managed or co-managed options , giving Alstom the flexibility to take control of individual aspects of change management .

NTT establishes its Bangkok 2 Data Centre as an international network exchange hub

partnerships with Japan Network Access Point ( JPNAP ) and Bangkok Neutral Internet eXchange ( BKNIX ) to uplift NTT ’ s Bangkok 2 Data Centre to become a hub for international network exchange .
NTT has developed an ‘ international link ’ with JPNAP ’ s data centres in Tokyo and with BKNIX Point of Presence ( PoP ), which was installed at NTT ’ s data centre in Thailand .
NTT Thailand ’ s partnership with JPNAP , the leading Internet Exchange Point service provider in Asia , aims to create an Internet exchange linkage that will empower Internet Service Providers , Cloud Service Providers and educational institutions among others , with unlimited access to international-level content .
NTT also collaborated with BKNIX , Thailand ’ s first neutral IXP service provider , to install a new PoP at Bangkok 2 Data Centre to serve as a hub for content and Internet traffic exchange . Bangkok 2 Data Centre can accommodate ultra-high-heat servers that consume 20kW or more power , such as Graphics Processing Unit servers . The centre also adopted 2N Power System with Active-Active technology that guarantees a supply of electrical power , to enable a 100 % service-level agreement .
