H to the first edition of Intelligent Data Centres in 2023 – wishing you a very Happy New Year ! Entering a new year means lots of potentially exciting new trends and developments are to be expected across the global data centre space . We hear from industry experts on what these might be and some of their best practice advice for managing them .

This month ’ s cover star is Tim Perkins , Director of IT , Walgreens Boots Alliance , and on page 47 he talks to me about how the company champions healthy success with BMC Software . He elaborates on why the organisation chose to work with BMC , some of the challenges it faced ahead of the collaboration , Perkins ’ involvement in the data centre side of the business and how the company is able to conquer the opportunities that lie ahead .
A popular discussion point in this issue is what ’ s in store for the data centre space in terms of trends and how the industry will evolve . On page 17 , Ciaran Forde , Data Centre Segment Leader , Eaton , offers his predictions for 2023 , focusing particularly on the current challenges stemming from the geopolitical difficulties we now face .

Samer Labaky , Manager , Enterprise and Public Sector Accounts , UAE and Oman at Nutanix , discusses how to improve sustainability in the data centre and make a lasting change to the way they run .
