OVHcloud launches first data centre in India

O launch of its first data centre in India , as part of its Asia-Pacific expansion plans which will see the deployment of two additional data centres in Singapore and Australia by next year . Adding to OVHcloud ’ s network of data centres worldwide , the new Mumbai facility is part of its recently announced global strategic plan to build 15 new sites by 2024 . The global expansion will provide OVHcloud customers with open , trusted , sovereign and sustainable cloud solutions that will enable them to meet growing digital needs .

The announcement comes at a crucial time for the Asia-Pacific region , which has witnessed an uptick in cloud adoption amidst sharper regulatory scrutiny over data sovereignty and environmental concerns . Particularly for India , cloud-enabled Digital Transformation is driving explosive growth of the national digital economy , that already outpaces growth of the larger economy by 2.4 times . Additionally , under the Digital India government campaign underpinning a concerted push for Digital Transformation on a national scale , business and government sectors are both set to increase their reliance on the cloud .
OVHcloud ’ s new data centre in Mumbai will offer Indian businesses enhanced support through local compute and storage capabilities to meet evolving data compliance needs , especially as the Government of India pushes for more comprehensive data protection laws to go along with a growing digital economy .

Blue Tahiti selects Proximity Data Centres to support future expansion

P relocated its IT operations to Proximity ’ s Bristol-based Edge 9 colocation data centre .

Following an extensive review of its immediate and future IT and infrastructure requirements , Blue Tahiti made the decision to move to Proximity Edge 9 from its previous Surrey-based colocation facility . The move was prompted by Blue Tahiti ’ s planned significant expansion with the launch of a new range of products , including an e-commerce platform which has the potential to service the data analysis requirements of thousands of online traders .
John Hall , Managing Director , Colocation , Proximity Data Centres , added : “ We are very pleased to have been chosen by Blue Tahiti as its new data centre provider and look forward to supporting its needs for many years to come . Our forward power availability , low latency network connectivity and high calibre onsite engineering credentials were all key to the final decision .”
Key data centre decision criteria included available space and forward power , on-site engineering support , a strategic location , high level of physical security , diverse fibre connectivity options and price-competitiveness .
