Our Editor takes a look at this month ’ s biggest talking point for data centre leaders .
CONNECTING THE FUTURE THROUGH CONVERSATION

U the phrase ‘ virtual vs . reality ’ it ’ s in the context of Digital Transformation but in this instance , I want to draw attention to the benefits of in-person events versus virtual ones . This is in light of our company attendance at two major trade shows this month – the first being our inaugural appearance at Data Centre World Asia in Singapore .
Not only am I looking forward to experiencing a new country , I am also intrigued as to some of the conversations I will be having at the show , particularly since that part of the world has only recently opened up again since COVID . And from a business perspective , organisations will be placed in the spotlight – sculpting their future roadmaps on conversations at the show , fostering a digitally empowered and tech-savvy society for years to come .
Some may say events such as these offer experts the opportunity to ‘ show off ’, if you will , their unique selling points and what they can offer new potential customers , but on the whole these faceto-face meetings add a more personal element which is arguably invaluable .
This will be our 10th year attending GITEX Global in Dubai and as I write this , IT
