NLIGHTEN ACQUIRES DATA CENTRE IN AMSTERDAM TO EXPAND EUROPEAN PRESENCE

nLighten , a digital infrastructure platform of I Squared Capital – a leading global infrastructure investor – has acquired GYRO Center ( Gyro ), a high-performance data centre in Amsterdam .

With this acquisition , nLighten is pushing ahead with its European expansion and is one step closer to its goal of building and operating one of the leading Edge data centre platforms in Europe .
The data centre market in the Netherlands is one of the largest in Europe , benefitting from its stable power supply , good infrastructure and convenient location .
Amsterdam is one of the most important European Internet hubs and a key location for the international data centre industry , alongside London , Paris and Frankfurt .
Gyro ’ s carrier-neutral data centre procures 100 % renewable energy and is proactively managing energy consumption , which aligns with nLighten ´ s mission to deliver services in a more sustainable and responsible way . It is also located in an excellent area regarding connectivity , security and availability offering a personal approach and 24 / 7 on-site IT staff .
To bring Gyro up to state-of-the-art standards , structural measures in accordance with Tier III will be carried out in the near future and the cooling system will be modernised .

SCALA DATA CENTERS BUILDING PROGRAMME BACKED BY GREEN DEBENTURES WORTH US $ 215 MILLION
The debentures , maturing in six years , are worth US $ 215 million , with the transaction representing the second largest issuance of its type carried out by the data centre sector in Brazil – only behind Scala itself .
Given the sustainable actions underway since its founding , Scala was able to issue green debentures instead of Sustainability- Linked Bonds ( SLB ), which are linked to future fulfilment .
The company currently has a portfolio of data centres with the lowest PUE in Latin America and operates with carbon neutrality , in addition to professional and educational qualification initiatives in the communities where it operates .
