DC BLOX ACQUIRES 55 ACRES AND COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF 180MW DATA CENTRE CAMPUS IN GEORGIA

DC BLOX , a leading provider of connected data centres and dark fibre solutions across South East America , has announced the recent purchase and commencement of construction of a cutting-edge data centre campus in Douglasville , Georgia .

With this strategic move , DC BLOX is set to expand its data centre portfolio in close proximity to Atlanta , expanding the region ’ s explosive growth as a core data centre market and addressing the growing needs of hyperscale and AI / ML platform and application provider tenants in the heart of the region ’ s data centre alley .
With an expected capital investment of over US $ 1.2 billion , the site is supported by robust tax incentives coordinated by Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership . The recent property acquisition and initiation of construction demonstrates DC BLOX ’ s commitment to invest its resources to stay ahead of emerging market needs .
The site will also be connected to DC BLOX ’ s nearly 500-mile dark fibre route , the first high-capacity East-to-West fibre path connecting the major communications hubs in Atlanta , through
Augusta and on to the DC BLOX Cable Landing Station in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina . The dark fibre route is expected to be completed in Q4 2023 .

Designed to meet demanding hyperscale requirements , the two-story data centre campus will feature 12 data halls , totalling 750,000 square feet of gross space on 55 acres . 180MW of power has been committed for the campus with initial customer move-in expected Q3 2025 . evroc has announced it has selected Stockholm as the location for its flagship data centre . Arlandastad Group presented a letter of intent for the centre to be built during 2024 and plans to invest € 600 million over the coming years to develop the flagship facility .
Serving as a scaling platform for Europe ’ s first hyperscale cloud , the centre represents a critical milestone on the company ’ s path to operating 10 sustainable hyperscale data centres across Europe by 2030 .
The company ’ s ambition is further to establish the facility as an epicentre for AI in Europe . At full capacity , the flagship data centre has been designed to contain 16,000 GPUs , more than can be found at any other single location anywhere in Europe .
