We take a look at this month ’ s biggest talking point for data centre leaders .

LAYING THE FOUNDATIONS FOR A DIGITAL FUTURE

he telecommunications

T industry remains a key contributor towards robust technological growth and Digital Transformation initiatives .

The industry is responsible for bolstering connectivity across continents and ensuring it is both reliable and scalable . Unprecedented demand for data centre services is putting pressure on these network providers to deliver robust infrastructure far into the future .
We ’ ve recently seen the likes of EXA Infrastructure partner with NJFX , marking a significant step in generating robust global network connectivity , with EXA establishing a new Point of Presence ( PoP ) at NJFX ’ s facility .
As part of this strategic presence at NJFX , EXA announced a partnership with Bulk for the Havfrue cable system . EXA will integrate Havfrue with its pan-European backbone network to provide direct connectivity to the Nordics avoiding major conventional transatlantic traffic passages .
This strategic move means that EXA customers are now able to leverage low latency routes to major connectivity hubs avoiding legacy chokepoints .
As we can see , there is major work being done to enhance the network options that are available to customers . Scalability is to be considered when it comes to

Bandwidth IG is another example of a company investing in its network capabilities as it recently revealed its dark fibre network expansion in the San Francisco Bay Area . It has been revealed that this move will deliver over 310 route miles and more than 2 million fibre miles to one of the largest data centre markets in the world .
The company ’ s new fibre network will include the first marine cable laid in over 20 years under the San Francisco Bay , with a high-capacity fibre ring that connects Great Oaks and Santa Clara , up the East Bay and Peninsula . It ties into downtown San Francisco to create the newest and highest capacity fibre ring in the Bay Area .
Organisations such as these form the backbone of our digital society and are not only responsible for laying the foundations for reliable infrastructure but are also key in defining the future of digital connectivity . Increasing network capacity and having the tools to do so is the way forward .
