Intelligent Data Centres Issue 64 | Page 29

I N D U S T R Y I N T E L L I G E N C E nodes that are coming are perfect for what we do , such as AI at the Edge , and that ’ s what we know is coming . So , it ’ s not so much controversial , but I think the data centre industry itself is at an inflection point . Every sector is changing , but we ’ re particularly and increasingly in the firing line . However , we see opportunity and change , and in this , that ’ s where models can adapt and new people can thrive .
What can competitors learn from you and Deep Green from how recent projects , like the Exmouth Swimming Pool , have been realised ?
I think it ’ s got nothing to do with the technology and it ’ s got all to do with human story . The reason why Exmouth was so powerful is because we didn ’ t talk about how amazing the immersion technology was or how interesting the A-100 Nvidia cards – no one cares about that – they understand their laptop gets hot , and they understand that their local pool is needs some support .
The industry needs to talk to each other , not just about all the geeky stuff that we love , but equally when we ’ re talking outside the environment of our own industry , we need to tell much more human and relatable stories .
This is probably the biggest learning in many ways , and we were taken by surprise by how visible we became through this .
What ’ s currently in motion for Deep Green and are there any other projects similar to Dirty Looks that you can discuss ?
We ’ re around 12 – 14 weeks out from having the business funded , so there ’ s lots in the pipeline . We ’ re going to be talking a lot about verticals , so stuff we ’ re doing with hospitals , advanced manufacturing , pharmaceuticals and universities . These will form a kind of consistent , continuous pipeline of interesting case studies .
Mark Bjornsgaard , CEO at Deep Green
Other than that , the day job is building as much as we possibly can , as quickly as we possibly can . It ’ s all very well , having done excellent and the funding is brilliant , but we ’ re sure that once we ’ re at 10 – 20 sites , we ’ ll be able to get out heads around it much better and the speed of adoption will hopefully increase itself .
