ALLIANCE AIR INVESTS US $ 121 MILLION FOR NEW ENERGY-EFFICIENT MANUFACTURING FACILITY
Alliance Air , a subsidiary of Daikin Applied – a leading global commercial and industrial HVAC manufacturer – recently broke ground for the construction of a new energy-efficient manufacturing facility in Tijuana , Mexico to support sustainable data centre growth across North America .
The new US $ 121 million , 460,000 square-foot facility is expected to support over 1,000 production jobs and over 1,150 total new permanent jobs in the North West region of Mexico .
This investment will expand on the established presence of Alliance Air and Daikin Applied in Tijuana as the company looks to support significant data centre market growth in Mexico and North America . The facility is being built to manufacture energy-efficient HVAC cooling solutions specifically for data centres . It is designed for maximum efficiency to meet the company ’ s – and customers ’ – sustainability goals .
Construction of the facility is expected to be complete by Spring 2025 , with production ramping up in June 2025 .
This expanded facility allows the company to better serve customers in North America with a single supplier for end-to- end HVAC solutions . The expansion builds on the legacy of Alliance Air in Tijuana , which is also celebrating 20 years in the community , now partnered with the 100-year legacy of industry leader Daikin Industries .
STACK Infrastructure , a digital infrastructure partner to some of the world ’ s most innovative companies and a leading global developer and operator of data centres , has launched a scholarship programme for female students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds ( as defined by the Social Mobility Commission ) who are planning to study a STEM ( Science , Technology , Engineering , Mathematics ) subject at university in the UK .
Beginning with the 2024 – 2025 academic year , STACK will fund the entire academic studies of selected students , including the full cost of tuition fees as well as living expenses . The scholars will also be given access to mentorship , internship opportunities and attendance at leading data centre industry events .
The scholarship programme , which is in partnership with leading financial EdTech platform , Blackbullion , supports STACK ’ s commitment to helping underserved communities , promoting social mobility and developing the next generation of diverse industry leaders who otherwise may not have been able to fund a university education .
