East African telecommunications company , Wingu Africa , and pan-

African talent cloud technology company , Gebeya , have announced an ambitious partnership aiming to create a robust pool of skilled data centre technologists , with at least one-fifth being women . The partnership will result in the certification of 1,000 young people in data centre infrastructure and technologies within a year through a first-of-its-kind talent cloud platform . The project aims to onboard , support , manage , skill and certify these individuals in data centre infrastructure and technologies .

JAPAN

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres ( STT GDC ), one of the world ’ s fastest-growing data centre colocation services providers , has announced its first data centre facility in Japan – STT Tokyo 1 – has achieved the TIA-942-C Design Certification , the latest update to the globally accepted data centre infrastructure standard . The data centre has been designed with the guidelines of the Japan Data Centre Council ( JDCC ) in mind , which are important to many local customers in Japan . The campus will support up to 70MW of IT capacity in total , with STT Tokyo 1 supporting up to 32MW when fully operational .
