PULSANT ELEVATES CLIENT EXPERIENCE WITH CROYDON DATA CENTRE REDESIGN
Pulsant has opened the doors on its newly refurbished
Croydon data centre , showcasing a client-centric design aimed at boosting productivity and on-site efficiency .
The site is the first of the Pulsant sites to undergo a redesign , based on client feedback and user group insights , with a roll-out planned to other sites in its nationwide platformEDGE network .
“ Often data centres are designed with little thought for the human experience of working alongside critical infrastructure ,” said Ben
Cranham , Chief Operating Officer , Pulsant . “ By incorporating client feedback into every aspect of our redesign process , we ’ ve worked hard to create a space that enables us to work better together . The newly designed space offers an improved working environment for our clients as well as our team .”
To ensure the new site infrastructure met requirements , Pulsant undertook a series of customer journey mapping sessions to gain a deeper understanding of their issues and priorities . Based on these insights , Pulsant has crafted a space that prioritises ease of navigation , enhanced amenities and streamlined processes .
Key features of the revamped Croydon data centre include :
• A zonal system with more than 40 signs has been introduced to help simplify wayfinding and improve on-site client productivity
• Further investment in client breakout areas to more easily take calls , as well as relax and unwind
• All meeting spaces have been fully fitted with AV equipment and free guest Wi-Fi for use by visiting clients
• In line with Pulsant ’ s sustainability commitments , EV charging points have been added for clients
• Technical space has been fitted out with individual build bays featuring test PDUs , tools and equipment to aid set up and testing before deploying into the data halls
• Site security protocols improved to allow more efficient movement around the site
ST Telemedia Global Data Centres ( STT GDC ), one of the world ’ s fastest-growing data centre providers , has announced the deployment of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil ( HVO ) to its data centres in Singapore , as a renewable fuel replacing conventional diesel fuel for backup generators .
STT GDC is one of the first data centre operators in Singapore to deploy HVO for use in backup generators across its facilities in Singapore , starting with the deployment of an initial 50,000 litres .
STT GDC sources HVO from fuel supplier Neste , who has issued Proof of Sustainability that the HVO delivered reduces GHG emissions by up to 90 % over its lifecycle , compared to fossil diesel .
The decision to now deploy HVO in its operational data centres is the culmination of a period of thorough testing with its partners to validate compatibility and performance and reflects confidence in the reliability of the HVO supply chain in Singapore .
HVO is a renewable diesel alternative produced from waste fats and vegetable oils . As a drop-in fuel , it is compatible with most existing diesel engines without modification . HVO significantly reduces carbon emissions , which reduces greenhouse gas ( GHG ) emissions and has less impact on air quality , as compared to traditional diesel , making it a cleaner and more sustainable option for backup power generation .
This initiative aligns with STT GDC ’ s broader global sustainability goals to be carbon neutral by 2030 . This includes taking proactive measures to reduce absolute emissions by exploring more sustainable fuel sources such as HVO . It is part of the company ’ s broader strategy to incorporate advanced biofuels and other renewable energy sources into its energy mix .
