Pure Data Centres has found its first Spanish data centre home in Meco ,

Madrid , after ActivumSG , a leading pan- European real estate private equity manager , has on behalf of ActivumSG Fund VI , sold a 190,000 square feet plot of land to the operator . The site sits within the Madrid-to-Barcelona transport corridor , one of Spain and Europe ’ s most economically significant regions .

PHILIPPINES

Equinix has entered the Philippines market with the acquisition of three data centres from Total Information Management ( TIM ). Following the recently announced expansions in Malaysia and Indonesia , this strategic move aims to help businesses expand and capitalise on the digital opportunity of the fast-growing South East Asia region .

Madrid is considered a highly sought-after data centre market with strong supply-demand dynamics and is comparably underdeveloped relative to other major European cities such as London , Paris , Amsterdam and Frankfurt . “ Our expansion into Madrid allows us to serve a growing European market and to further extend our global portfolio of data centres ,” Dawn Childs , CEO , Pure DC , said .

The acquisition of the three high-performance data centres will provide capacity for Equinix to address the digital needs of local and overseas businesses in the Philippines . Existing customers of TIM will also gain access to Equinix ’ s global ecosystems of more than 10,000 companies , including more than 2,000 networks and 3,000 cloud and IT service providers .
