EcoDataCenter is investing further in the EcoDataCenter 1 facility in Falun to more than double its current capacity .
The expansion is driven by the company ’ s recent success in securing a major global customer as well as increased interest from companies worldwide .
During 2023 , the company and its owner , Areim , have raised approximately € 620 million in capital to fuel the expansion of the company . Now , € 200 million will be invested , making the data centre one of the largest in Sweden .
The expansion will more than double the existing capacity with the first phase to be completed by Q3 2024 and the full build-out by Q2 2025 . The expansion will bring the site ’ s total capacity to 45MW .
AUSTRALIA
Genetec has confirmed Genetec Security Center SaaS will be hosted in Australia on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform . By hosting Security Center SaaS on Azure – leveraging the latest in enterprise-ready Gen AI and cloud technology – public and private sector organisations throughout Australia will be able to obtain flexible physical security cloud technology and fast , low-latency access to the solution while ensuring data sovereignty protocols are met .
Leon Langlais , Chief Product Officer for APAC , Genetec , said : “ Establishing a data centre in Australia provides our clients with the confidence that their physical security systems are managed locally .”
Australia joins the United States , Canada and the Netherlands as one of the four countries where Genetec has launched a data centre for Security Center SaaS .
