ANORD MARDIX OPENS SECOND IRELAND FACILITY TO MEET DEMAND FOR CRITICAL POWER SOLUTIONS

Anord Mardix , a Flex company specialising in the design and manufacturing of critical power distribution and end-to-end power solutions , has opened a second facility in Dundalk , Ireland .

This new Dundalk facility , named D2 , will serve as an assembly hub for switchgear products , ensuring a seamless and efficient production process – to meet the growing global demand for safe , reliable and uninterrupted data centre power from the grid to the chip driven by the rapid growth of AI . The facility adds 120,000 square feet to Anord Mardix ’ s manufacturing space , doubling the team ’ s footprint in Ireland .
“ The expansion of capabilities in Dundalk will help us meet demand for innovative solutions to the global power challenges facing AI data centres while also providing career opportunities to the local community ,” said Graeme Smith , General Manager of Anord Mardix Ireland .
“ Our team in Dundalk is dedicated to delivering high-quality critical power products and solutions , and I am incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment . The new facility allows our driven teams to further support our customers and meet the growing demands of the industry ,” added Smith .
Chris Butler , President of Embedded and Critical Power at Flex , said : “ Flex ’ s integrated data centre power solutions are differentiators in the market . Anord Mardix delivers products and services that improve power distribution , efficiency and performance while accelerating time-to-market for AI data centres .”
This project will expand Scala ’ s already fully renewable energy portfolio , providing wind power to meet the demands of hyperscale data centres , including mixed AI workloads .
The energy supply partnership will commence in January 2025 , with the possibility of earlier initiation . The renewable energy will be sourced from the Assuruá 4 and Ventos da Bahia 3 wind farms , both located in the state of Bahia , in the North East region of Brazil , with a total installed capacity of 393MW .
Scala will hold a stake in these assets , thereby tripling the amount of renewable energy available to serve its clients for over a decade .

Scala Data Centers , a leading Latin American platform of sustainable data centres in the hyperscale market , and Serena , a global leader in clean energy investments , have announced one of the largest renewable energy supply agreements in Latin America .
