AI FUELS TALK OF INNOVATION IN DATA CENTRES
his month ’ s column
T feels like the perfect place to reflect upon our attendance at the biggest event of the year for the company : GITEX Global . After ample conversations with leading industry executives – including faces old and new – it was evident that talk around AI is picking up pace in the Middle East . It quickly became clear that more and more companies are familiar with AI ’ s capabilities and with the region being no stranger to technology innovation , it ’ s easy to see how it will be a core component of future success and development .

and therefore serving to increase the pressure on data centres . Add AI into the mix and the pressure heightens by further accelerating the need for connectivity and power from the data centre .
Mahmoud Elmadhoun RCDD , Director , Systems Engineering , Middle East , Turkey & Africa at CommScope , went on to inform us that a large focus of the company ’ s meetings and discussions with customers is around AI . Even for customers that don ’ t have AI plans in the near term , they ’ re interested and excited to hear how it will impact their business and improve their operations overall . They ’ re keen to have CommScope help them build their infrastructure today that will support potential AI deployment in the future .
The company is working with a broad scope of data centre providers / hosts to arm them with the products , tools and solutions to help them prepare and make their data centres ready for future AI deployments .
It ’ s difficult to avoid the subject of AI – even if a company is still yet to implement it . The sheer capability of this tool for managing workloads , correlating data , streamlining processes and enhancing resource management is extremely apparent . From the conversations had , it ’ s possible to conclude that the data centre space will serve to benefit from AI as it expands its ability to evolve alongside the changing demands of customers .
