SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC ANNOUNCES KEY APPOINTMENT

Schneider Electric has appointed Nirupa Chander as Senior

Vice President for Secure Power and Data Centres , International Operations .
Chander will lead a division of over 700 professionals , driving Digital Transformation and sustainability initiatives across international regions , including the Middle East , East Asia , Japan , India and South America .
Pankaj Sharma , Executive Vice President , Secure Power , Data Centres and Global Services at Schneider Electric , highlighted Chander ’ s expertise , saying : “ Nirupa ’ s experience and insight will be invaluable as the energy and data sectors continue to evolve and digitalise .”
Chander , a veteran in the energy industry , brings extensive experience in energy grids , microgrids and automation , having held leadership roles at ABB and Hitachi Energy in Singapore and Australia . She joined Schneider Electric in 2022 as Vice President of Power Systems for the Middle East and Africa .

Leased to leading hyperscale graphics processing unit provider CoreWeave , the project is located within the 300-plus acre Chirisa Technology Park , Richmond , offering supplemental mission critical capacity within one of its most customer-dense regions in the US .

Newmark Group has arranged a US $ 600 million loan to capitalise a 50 megawatt build-to-suit data centre development by Blue Owl Real Estate , Chirisa and PowerHouse Data Centers in Northern Virginia .

In addition to increasing CoreWeave ’ s stronghold in this market , the development will also provide state- of-the-art fit-outs and access to highly redundant fibre networks , allowing it to serve customers throughout the east coast . The development broke ground earlier this year and is expected to deliver initial capacity in 2025 .
Newmark Research reported in January that the data centre industry is growing rapidly , fueled by expanding needs of hyperscalers , AI and high-performance computing users and large enterprises .
The increased demand has spurred a surge in new development and land banking for future development , with data centre construction pipelines hitting new all-time highs in 2024 .
