We take a look at this month’ s biggest talking point for data centre leaders.

DCW RECAP: KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE INDUSTRY LEADING EVENT

CW – the largest data

D centre event in the world – saw exhibitors travel far and wide to attend the annual conference which was hosted in London last month. Attendees showcased their pioneering products, shared innovative ideas and conducted collaborative conversations, all in favour of staying ahead and widening their knowledge in this fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry.

Lynchpin Media provided a platform for data centre leaders to discuss their attendance at this influential event and why it was important for each of them to participate. They shared their key messages with our audience, notably along the lines of AI and how data centre providers can ensure a sustainable future, meaning this critical infrastructure can continue to thrive.
Mark Yeeles, VP, Secure Power Division, Schneider Electric UK & I, outlined how data centres have become a critical fourth utility, ushering in an era where infrastructure is a catalyst for renewables and AI innovation – drawing on his own experience. He

Driven by the increased adoption of AI, data centre demand has surged. The pressure AI workloads are placing on data centre operations means organisations are having to accommodate demand and future-proof their infrastructure. This ideology is supported by McKinsey & Company’ s research which found that global demand for data centre capacity could more than triple by 2030.
Providing a more internal perspective was Michael Akinla, Manager Europe North, Panduit, who talked about the company’ s involvement in data centre infrastructure on a physical level. Presented on Panduit’ s stand at the show was its overhead cabling solution of which Akinla provided insight into during a booth tour. He shed light on how the company solves the conundrum of structured cabling introducing latency into the solution, as well as offering valuable insights into key concerns for its customers as the complexities of data centres increase.
Another interesting conversation we had at the show was with Mike Hoy, CTO, Pulsant, who informed us of the wide-reaching advantages of the company’ s newlylaunched Private Cloud solution. Hoy revealed how the solution fits into Pulsant’ s PlatformEDGE offering – particularly relevant as worldwide spending on Edge Computing is forecast to reach US $ 378 billion in 2028, according to IDC.
We’ ll be making a return to next year’ s DCW event, driven by the need for more of the same. In the meantime, you can find all our video interviews – as well as those from other industry events – here.
