1 American Tower has cut the ribbon 2 on its very first Aggregation Edge Data Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina. The new facility is 4,000 square feet and sits at the base of its existing cellular tower, a model that offers seamless integration with existing wireless infrastructure and delivers low-latency, AI, cloud and IoT capabilities to one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the US Tower.

Located strategically at the base of an existing cellular tower, the Raleigh Data Centre is designed to support both wireless and wireline network use cases. It offers advanced connectivity for mobile network operators, cloud service providers, and content delivery networks, facilitating service expansion into new markets.
The facility provides digital infrastructure optimised for low-latency applications, currently generating one megawatt of power across 4,000 square feet, with rapid scalability to multiple megawatts. Power provision averages 15 kilowatts per rack, ensuring significant capacity.
Building on the success in Raleigh, the company has identified over 1,000 additional sites technically feasible for future edge data centre development. While not all will be pursued, this portfolio offers a strong foundation for evaluating optimal edge infrastructure deployment. The strategy underscores their commitment to providing reliable, flexible, and scalable infrastructure to meet customer needs.
BRAZIL
Data centre provider ODATA, part of Aligned Data Centers, has announced its latest facility, DC SP04, located in Osasco, São Paulo. The site will offer a substantial power capacity of 48MW and incorporate a highly efficient Delta3 cooling system.
With an investment of over US $ 450 million upon completion, the 48MW facility will feature a flexible and adaptive design, enabling ODATA to seamlessly meet the dynamic requirements of its customers today and into the future.
DC SP04 will be the first ODATA facility in Brazil to feature the award-winning Delta Cube( Delta ³) cooling system, reinforcing the Company’ s commitment to efficiency, innovation and flexibility in its deployments. The proprietary, high-efficiency cooling technology, developed by ODATA’ s parent company, Aligned Data Centers, is exclusively available to ODATA across its facilities in South America. The patented design offers unmatched energy efficiency and flexibility to support shifting density requirements.
“ We take great pride in operating with 100 % renewable energy in Brazil, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to sustainable and responsible energy practices. The integration of Delta ³ in DC SP04 delivers rapid scalability, cutting-edge technological innovation and exceptional energy efficiency, enabling us to quickly address the growing power density and capacity needs of our customers,” said Ricardo Alário, CEO of ODATA.
