What level of resilience and reliability is Polar aiming to provide its AI-focused customers, and how critical was Vertiv’ s ability to deliver this level of redundancy in securing this partnership and meeting Polar’ s operational expectations?
We needed the highest levels of resilience and reliability for our demanding AI customers. Vertiv delivered IT infrastructure with N + 1 electrical topology and a concurrently maintainable chilled water network, providing continuous cooling even during power loss scenarios. Vertiv’ s liquid cooling solutions incorporate state-of-the-art redundancy, and filtration features to effectively support the latest GPU technologies.
Have the facility’ s performance metrics, particularly around power efficiency and cooling capabilities for AI workloads, met or exceeded initial expectations?
The project is set to achieve significant total cost of ownership savings compared to a traditional bricks-and-mortar approach, while providing fast deployment and easy reconfiguration and scalability. The solution is set to achieve high energy efficiencies and a PUE as low as 1.15, optimised by the cold climate. The site will provide 12 MW of HPC and AI-ready IT capacity, with the option to expand up to 50 MW.
