PROJECT
ROUND-UP
SINGAPORE
StarHub and NeutraDC, a data centre arm of Telkom Indonesia, have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding( MoU) to deepen collaboration on the deployment of quantum-safe connectivity solutions, including quantum-resistant encryption, postquantum cryptography and next-generation secure network infrastructure, and to enhance the digital services ecosystem in the region. As part of the collaboration, StarHub will establish a Point of Presence at NeutraDC SNG-3 in Singapore. This will integrate StarHub’ s Low-Latency Data Centre Connect solution into NeutraDC’ s digital infrastructure network, enabling enterprises to benefit from low-latency interconnectivity between data centres, cloud platforms and mission-critical business applications.
CANADA
NextStar Energy, Canada’ s first large-scale lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility, is expanding its operations to include the production of energy storage system( ESS) batteries. The Windsorbased plant has began manufacturing advanced battery cells designed to support commercial and grid-scale energy storage solutions, marking a significant step in the company’ s commitment to sustainable energy innovation in Canada. The ESS market is rapidly expanding and is expected to grow significantly over the next decade, driven in part by AI data centres and the increasing need for grid stability.
AUSTRALIA
ABB, in collaboration with IPD, is transforming the data centre landscape with cuttingedge ultra-low harmonic( ULH) variable speed drives, delivering unmatched energy efficiency, reliability and sustainability for mission-critical infrastructure. ABB’ s ULH drives offer a scalable solution to these challenges, intelligently adjusting cooling systems based on server load and environmental conditions. This enables operators to reduce energy consumption by up to 25 % during non-peak hours, while maintaining optimal operating conditions and extending equipment lifespan.
UK
Colt Data Centre Services, a leading global provider of AI, hyperscale and large enterprise data centres, has announced that it has received committee approval( Resolution to Grant) from Hillingdon Council to expand its Hayes Digital Park campus in West London with three new hyperscale data centres and an Innovation Hub. The £ 2.5 billion investment will strengthen the UK’ s digital infrastructure, support the government’ s modern industrial strategy and help drive the nation’ s growing AI economy. Power contracts for this development have been secured with National Grid and a high voltage supply is due to be delivered by October 2027.
