NOSTRUM DATA CENTERS ANNOUNCES AI- READY, SUSTAINABLE DATA CENTRE ASSETS IN SPAIN WILL BE AVAILABLE IN 2027
Nostrum Data Centers, a leading developer of highperformance, sustainable data centres in Spain, has announced its data centre assets will be available in 2027. The company is developing 500 MW of sustainable IT capacity across Spain, addressing skyrocketing demands for connectivity; offering customers speed-to-market with secured land and power.
In December, it was announced that Nostrum Data Centers, a digital infrastructure division of Nostrum Group, has chosen AECOM to design and manage its US $ 2.1 billion data centre campus in Badajoz, Spain. Nostrum’ s site in Badajoz is just one of the data centre developments. The company already has 300 MW of secured power capacity, scalable up to 500 MW in future phases.
The company’ s six data centre developments are strategically located throughout Spain to leverage subsea connectivity, robust power availability and unique competitive energy costs, allowing customers speed-to-market and scalable growth in one of the most efficient and sustainable environments in Europe.
The company’ s facilities are engineered for high-density workloads, offering a PUE of 1.1 and a WUE of zero, eliminating water usage for cooling. Preventing 10 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions, these data centres exemplify Nostrum’ s commitment to sustainability and full alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals( SDGs).
Gabriel Nebreda, Chief Executive Officer at Nostrum Group, said:“ Our team of industry leaders with over 25 years of experience are developing facilities that are not only highly efficient and scalable but also fully sustainable, supporting both our customers’ growth and global climate goals.”
Templus, one of the largest data centre platforms in Southern Europe, and AtlasEdge, a leading European data centre provider, have agreed that Templus will acquire nine data centres from AtlasEdge.
The transaction reinforces AtlasEdge’ s strategy of investing in larger, highly scalable sites while enabling Templus to expand internationally and strengthen its regional footprint.
The facilities are located in Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Leeds and Copenhagen.
Subject to customary regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to complete in the first half of 2026. AtlasEdge will retain operational responsibility for the sites and continue serving customers until completion.
Following the acquisition, Templus will manage a portfolio exceeding 60 MW and serve more than 750 customers across high-growth European co-location markets. The deal delivers
TEMPLUS AGREES TO ACQUIRE NINE ATLASEDGE DATA CENTRES ACROSS EUROPE immediate synergies in Spain and marks Templus’ first step into broader European expansion.
For AtlasEdge, the divestment supports a sharpened focus on large-scale campuses in Germany, Austria and Portugal. The company is developing a 42 MW facility in Vienna and a 30 MW campus in Lisbon, representing planned investment exceeding € 500 million. In October, AtlasEdge secured € 253 million in green financing and launched its first Lisbon data centre, LIS001.
Templus executives highlighted the acquisition as a milestone for European expansion, while AtlasEdge leadership emphasised continued investment in future-ready infrastructure. Both companies stressed continuity for customers.
