Portus Data Centers recognised by ISG for sustainable colocation services
Portus Data Centers has been recognised as a‘ Rising Star’ in the‘ Sustainable Colocation Services – Midmarket’ quadrant of the latest ISG Provider Lens Report 2026. Analysts acknowledge the company’ s focus on sustainable colocation services, secure data centre infrastructure, digital sovereignty and the expansion of AIenabled data centre capacity.
The ISG Provider Lens Report is a leading market research tool for IT and infrastructure decisions. It evaluates providers based on their market position, innovation and service portfolio and serves as a guide for companies selecting strategic technology partners. ISG awards the‘ Rising Star’ designation to providers with a compelling portfolio, a clear strategic direction and strong innovative capabilities, who, according to analysts, have the potential to become leading providers in their market segment within the next 12 to 24 months.
In its provider profile, ISG highlights that Portus Data Centers provides modern colocation services for businesses, ranging from individual racks and private cages to private suites for particularly security-critical applications. The study also recognises the company ' s consistent focus on security, sustainability and digital sovereignty.
Furthermore, ISG positions Portus Data Centers as a‘ Challenger’ in terms of product offerings. This classification underscores the company ' s competitive service portfolio and its ability to meet the growing demands of the market with scalable and future-proof solutions.
100 % renewable energy
Another key focus of the assessment is Portus Data Centers ' sustainability strategy: all of its data centres are powered by 100 % renewable energy. Sustainability is therefore an integral part of the company ' s investment and location strategy. The study also highlights the goal of further improving energy efficiency by 2030.
The expansion of AI-capable infrastructure is also factored into the assessment. ISG specifically points to the new Portus Data Centers data centre in Munich which was designed for AI and high-performance computing applications. The AI-native reference design includes, for example, ultra-high-density racks and creates the conditions for AI inference, AI training and other computeintensive applications, particularly in regulated industries with high demands on data protection and digital sovereignty.
A secure and high-performance foundation for digital transformation
" Portus Data Centers represents a secure, sustainable and future-proof data centre infrastructure in Germany with a strong focus on energy efficiency, AI capability and digital sovereignty," said Wolfgang Heinhaus, Senior Analyst at ISG.
“ Today, companies need data centre infrastructures that equally consider performance, energy efficiency and data sovereignty. With the increasing use of AI, the demands on efficiency and sustainability are also rising,” said Falk Weinreich, CEO of Portus Data Centers.“ Our goal is to be a reliable partner for our customers ' digital infrastructure – secure, networked and scalable. The award in the ISG Provider Lens Report 2026 confirms that we are on the right track with this approach.”
