KHAZNA DATA CENTERS AND SIEMENS SIGN MOU TO EXPLORE NEXT-GEN AI DATA CENTRE TECHNOLOGIES

Khazna Data Centers, a global leader in critical AI infrastructure, and Siemens, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding( MoU) aimed at establishing a technical relationship to advance the infrastructure required for the next generation of AI data centres.

The agreement sets out a series of specific areas for potential collaboration. From AI-ready infrastructure strategy and technology testing to next-generation power architectures and engineering talent development, the MoU outlines ambitions to prepare the AI infrastructure ecosystem for rapidly evolving requirements.
“ Siemens has made important contributions to the technologies that help data centre operators manage critical infrastructure efficiently and reliably. That becomes even more important as AI drives significantly denser computing environments and places new demands on power and supporting systems,” said Sultan Alowais, Vice President – International Execution at Khazna Data Centers. built at Khazna, looking practically at what the next generation of AI infrastructure will require and how we can prepare for it.”
Through the partnership, Khazna and Siemens will aim to examine emerging technology trends and the implications they could have for the design and operation of future facilities.
The collaboration will explore the use of digital twin technology for AI data centres, with the aim of strengthening the ability to model, understand and optimise increasingly complex infrastructure environments.
The collaboration will also draw upon Siemens’ digital twin expertise spanning simulation, design validation, system integration, commissioning and operational optimisation for data centre infrastructure. The companies will continue to progress next-generation 800 VDC power architectures and their potential in AI data centres.

“ Through this MoU, we want to combine that technology expertise with the operational and delivery experience we have P rysmian has completed the acquisition of Xtera Topco Limited(‘ Xtera’), a UK- and US-based specialist in turnkey submarine telecom systems, through the joint venture between Prysmian( 80 %) and Fincantieri( 20 %).

This marks a significant step in Prysmian’ s expansion in submarine telecommunications, combining Xtera’ s proprietary repeater technology and expertise in regional and longhaul systems with Prysmian’ s leadership in submarine cable technology, manufacturing and installation.
The transaction, announced in December 2025, implies an enterprise value of US $ 65 million. The acquisition comes at
PRYSMIAN COMPLETES XTERA ACQUISITION AND ACCELERATES EXPANSION IN SUBMARINE TELECOM a time of growing global demand for new submarine telecom infrastructure, driven by AI, cloud computing and the rapid expansion of data centres.
In September, Xtera was selected by EXA Infrastructure to provide the optical engineering and wet and dry plant for EXA Meridian, a new 6,552 km transatlantic submarine cable connecting New Jersey in the US with Brean in the UK. Designed with 24 fibre pairs and more than 500 Tbps of scalable capacity, the system is targeted to enter service in 2029.
The cables for EXA Meridian will be manufactured at Prysmian’ s submarine telecom centre of excellence in Nordenham, Germany, where the group is doubling production capacity to support growing market demand and looking for up to 300 new employees. Previously known as NSW, the Nordenham site has manufactured submarine cables since 1899 and represents a strategic European industrial asset for submarine telecom cable production.
“ Submarine telecom represents an important growth opportunity for Prysmian,” said Raul Gil, EVP Transmission at Prysmian.“ As global demand accelerates, security and resilience will become increasingly critical differentiators. With Xtera’ s technology, our global leadership in submarine cables and our expanding capacity in Nordenham, we are ready to take more orders and grow our market share. We will continue to invest to support this ambition, including exploring the addition of a new dedicated submarine telecom cable-laying vessel.”
