Rack Centre becomes one of the first IFC EDGE certified data centres in EMEA
NEWS ack Centre , an Actis majorityowned data centre and a leading
R carrier-neutral Tier III data centre in West Africa , has become one of the first International Finance Corporation ( IFC ) EDGE certified data centres in Europe , the Middle East and Africa .
This prestigious green building certification recognises the significant savings the centre will achieve in energy and water use , incorporated as part of the design to expand the facility ’ s IT load from 1.5MW to 13MW . On completion of this expansion , Rack Centre is forecast to achieve 35 % energy savings , which is estimated to avoid carbon emissions totalling approximately 100 tonnes each year . capacity in Africa , while at the same time reducing its environmental impact and operating costs , Actis has spearheaded a programme of green design philosophies and initiatives that will result in the data centre achieving 35 % energy savings , 41 % water savings and deliver a 45 % saving in embodied energy in materials used .

The new range of prefabricated data centres meet customer demands for greater predictability , a lower total cost of ownership and increased speed of deployment .
The Easy Modular Data Center All-in-One range will expand Schneider Electric ’ s modular data centre offering and builds on the successes of its Easy physical infrastructure products . All four designs – including its Easy Rack , Easy PDU and Easy UPS offers – are cooled using ultra-energy efficient InRow DX cooling systems and offer enhanced remote monitoring , management and service support via Schneider Electric ’ s EcoStruxure IT Expert DCIM software .
With its new pre-engineered designs , Schneider Electric can streamline the design and commissioning process , eliminating upfront engineering work and meet demanding timescales by delivering a high-quality , standardised solution with delivery in as little as 12 weeks . Easy Modular Data Center All-in-One designs range from five to 14 racks and offer power densities between 27kW – 94KkW and depending on the customer environment and can be pre-configured within either an ISO20ft or ISO40ft container or as a 25ft – 45ft module .
