Equinix and PGIM Real Estate open first xScale data centre in Sydney for hyperscalers
NEWS quinix and PGIM Real Estate have announced the opening
E of the first xScale data centre in Sydney , named SY9x .
As the first of the two data centres to be developed and operated under the joint venture with PGIM Real Estate , SY9x currently provides more than 14 MW of power capacity and will provide more than 28 MW when fully built out to meet the surging demand for cloud-based platforms and services among businesses in Australia .

By deploying at Equinix xScale data centres , hyperscale companies can add core deployments to their existing access point footprints at Equinix International Business Exchange ( IBX ) data centres .
EdgeConneX enters Indonesian market with plans for a hyperscale data centre campus

E acquisition of GTN Data Centre in Indonesia .
This marks EdgeConneX ’ s ninth market in Asia that is either established or under development as it continues rapidly building out its data centre platform in the region .
Strategically located in Bekasi Cikarang , part of greater Jakarta , GTN has been operating a Tier 3 certified data centre since 2016 . GTN was established via a joint venture between Japan ’ s Mitsui and local IT distributor and integrator , PT Multipolar Technology , which is part of Indonesian conglomerate , Lippo Group .
Having announced plans to build a pan-Indian data centre platform through a joint venture , AdaniConneX , as well as announcing a strategic investment in Chayora , a leading data centre operator in China , the acquisition of the GTN Data Centre in Indonesia represents the third major country in Asia that EdgeConneX has entered as part of its global expansion strategy .
GTN ’ s carrier neutral facility supports over 50 customers in a nearly 7MW facility located in a secure area with reliable , scalable and diverse power sources and a 100 % SLA record .
In addition , EdgeConneX has acquired a plot of land directly adjacent to GTN , allowing for a future hyperscale data centre campus that could ultimately support more than 90 MWs of capacity .
