On the cover this month is Eric Bermender , Head of Data Center and IT Infrastructure , Pixar . You can find the full story on page 49 , where he discusses how Pixar ’ s innovative productions have redefined the boundaries of technology integration in visual storytelling . The organisation ’ s collaboration with VAST has set the foundation for AI-powered cinematography while allowing quick adaptation to evolving artistic needs .
On page 19 , Jacob Albers , Head of Alternatives Insights , Cushman & Wakefield , highlights some interesting findings on the data centre market in Northern Virginia and the issues set to face the landscape in the new year .
‘ Industry Intelligence ’ focuses on sustainability and how this can be improved by using colocation services . We hear how colocation can be a solution to the complex requirements of financial sensibility , business growth and being environmentally conscious . This discussion can be found on page 23 .
The skills gap is still very prominent across the industry so we thought it apt to ask the experts , on page 31 , how data centre managers can foster an environment that encourages new talent and incentivises progression in the data centre space . Navigating the 2024 data centre landscape will inevitably come with its challenges . On page 37 , we hear from three industry experts who discuss their expectations for the year ahead , with a focus on sustainability , infrastructure developments and compliance .
Elsewhere in the magazine this month is a discussion on DCIM software as we consider the five ways it supports EU Green Deal compliance . Herman Chan , President , Sunbird Software , details a path forward using this technology .
Not only is this the final edition of the magazine this year , it ’ s also my last as editor . From December I will be taking on the role of Head of Strategic Content at Lynchpin Media . I wanted to say a huge thank you to those of you who have taken the time to turn the pages of this magazine and who continue to do so . Without doubt , this magazine and the people who have featured in it have taught me the most in my several years as an editor . I ’ ve learnt more about the data centre space than any other and it has ( slowly ) become my most favourite industry to learn about , so thank you to those who have contributed .
