A a close , so too does my role as Editor of Intelligent Data Centres magazine . But not to fear , this column will still be brought to you on a monthly basis by yours truly as I continue to shine a light on the allimportant developments taking place industry wide .

After several years editing this publication , I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to grips with the inner workings of the industry responsible for driving the data centre revolution . What struck me most when learning about such a complex industry , is that most of us don ’ t even realise where or when we ’ re using data centre technology and the complexities that come with it . The use of such technology is increasingly spilling into our day-to-day lives and has happened in the blink of an eye .
Over the past 12 months , we ’ ve witnessed innovative developments far and wide . We ’ ve also seen skills gaps take hold , cooling complexities feature prominently and the rise of AI come to fruition . The challenges of data centre development are being tackled head-on by industry leaders , whether that be through the use of environmentally friendly materials for data centre builds , or building new data centres in the burgeoning Nordic market – a hot spot for its climate .
I recently attended Vertiv ’ s event in Zagreb , Croatia , where we had a jampacked day listening to panel discussions and analysing some interesting market report findings , with the opportunity to ask Vertiv representatives and its customers our burning questions . We were then
