HOT TOPIC ushered onto coaches where we were taken to the organisation ’ s warehouse facility which is used to develop and distribute prefabricated modular data centres to its clients across the globe .
We were provided with hard hats and hi-vis jackets and shown the innerworkings of these groundbreaking data centres . The focal point of the event was to announce the company ’ s new timber prefabricated modular data centre ; a step in the right direction on Vertiv ’ s road to net zero carbon .
Aside from the technology focus of the event , it once again highlighted to me the importance of in-person interaction and the necessity of face-to-face conversation . I know I speak on behalf of those who attended when I say that a lot of fun was had during the course of the two days , while it also gave us journalists an opportunity to get together and share our ideas – a rare occasion !
