US data centre giant Digital Realty has joined the SCION Association, the body overseeing the SCION( Scalability, Control, and Isolation on Next-Generation Networks) protocol. This makes them the first data centre operator in Switzerland to do so, reinforcing their dedication to a secure and interconnected global digital landscape.
As a SCION Association member, Digital Realty is well-placed to promote the adoption of this next-generation Internet architecture, designed for improved security, reliability and control. The SCION protocol can be seamlessly integrated with Digital Realty’ s global interconnection platform, ServiceFabric, enabling secure and policy-aware networking across various locations.
Notably, SCION underpins the Secure Swiss Finance Network( SSFN), a trusted platform used by over 300 financial institutions globally. Digital Realty’ s Swiss data centres offer access to this secure financial network via SCION-enabled Internet service providers, highlighting their role as a key infrastructure partner for critical operations.

Nordic data centre firm, atNorth will host the infrastructure for 6G AI
Sweden’ s National AI Cloud at its SWE01 facility in Stockholm. The announcement details the provision of state-of-the-art AI infrastructure at atNorth’ s site.
6G AI Sweden is set to acquire Nvidia’ s advanced AI chips, the H200 and Blackwell GB200, to underpin the development of this National AI Cloud. This initiative aims to advance AI innovation across diverse sectors.
The National AI Cloud, situated within atNorth’ s SWE01 data centre, will operate under Swedish data sovereignty and adhere to GDPR regulations. Furthermore, atNorth’ s SWE01 site utilises renewable energy and heat reuse, aligning with 6G AI Sweden’ s sustainability objectives.
