Anderson’ s connectors are a specialised outlet connector designed to support higher amperage applications. C22 outlets are capped at 16 amps per outlet, but Anderson outlets offer both 20- and 30-amp connectors. Raritan offers PDUs supporting both the 20-amp and 30-amp Saf-D-Grids, including 30-amp breakers, which are offered across the board.
Additionally, Anderson connectors are designed to operate at 480 / 277 volts instead of the traditional 400-415 volts.
Therefore, many equipment vendors and hyperscalers are moving toward this because it increases rack capacity and power supply. The benefit is that you can use two 30-amp connectors to serve the same purpose as four connectors from an IEC outlet, delivering significant gains for hyperscalers.
