ARCADIS LAUNCHES DATA CENTRE GROWTH LAB TO BUILD NEXT GENERATION OF TALENT
Arcadis, a world-leading company delivering data-driven sustainable design, engineering and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets, has announced the launch of its Data Centre Growth Lab, a programme designed to equip thousands of Arcadians with the skills needed to deliver the data centres that underpin the global digital economy.
Powered by the Lovinklaan Foundation, Arcadis’ largest shareholder and a foundation led and managed by Arcadians,
is funding the programme to support employee development and strengthen future-focused skills across the business.
The Data Centre Growth Lab forms part of Arcadis’ wider growth strategy, focused on strengthening capabilities in markets where clients face complex investment, delivery and sustainability challenges. For Arcadians, the investment creates a structured opportunity to build future-focused skills, develop technical confidence and open new pathways into one of the fastest-growing areas of the global economy. For Arcadis, this expanding pool of data centre-ready talent will also strengthen the business’ ability to respond to client demand, bid for and deliver work in markets where speed, sector knowledge and specialist capability are increasingly important. Data centres are a growing part of Arcadis’ Industrial Manufacturing and Technology business, with strong activity across Europe, North America, LATAM and APAC, supported by demand from hyperscale, colocation, neocloud and developer / operator clients.
Unlike a traditional awareness programme, the Data Centre Growth Lab is designed to create practical delivery capacity. It will help identify people with transferable skills, provide structured industry training and support their move into data centre work where Arcadis is seeing sustained demand. This makes the initiative both a talent development programme and a commercial growth lever, helping the business expand capacity without relying solely on external hiring in a competitive skills market.
QTS, the US infrastructure provider, has announced plans to invest US $ 250 million in Texas water infrastructure, conservation and community-focused water projects over the next 10 years, reinforcing its commitment to responsible growth and long-term water stewardship across the state.
This QTS Water Infrastructure and Stewardship Pledge will support projects that improve water reliability, increase efficiency and strengthen local water systems. QTS also expects to further invest in its Water-Free Cooling Design across future Texas data centre developments, helping reduce pressure on local water resources while supporting continued economic growth.
The effort begins with plans for a transformational investment in rural water infrastructure through the permanent replacement of the aging water tower in Turkey, Texas, in partnership with the city. In addition, QTS plans to invest US $ 15 million over the next decade through a partnership with Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a national nonprofit water stewardship organisation that specialises in conservation and watershed restoration projects, to support water replenishment and conservation projects across Texas, including leak detection, habitat restoration and irrigation-efficiency improvements.
QTS TO INVEST US $ 250 MILLION IN TEXAS WATER INFRASTRUCTURE AND STEWARDSHIP OVER NEXT DECADE
“ Texas is one of the nation’ s most important markets for digital infrastructure and that growth must be matched by responsible investment in local resources,” said Tag Greason and David Robey, Co-CEOs of QTS.“ This commitment reflects our belief that data centre development and water stewardship can go hand in hand. By investing in infrastructure, supporting conservation projects and deploying water-free cooling technology, we’ re helping meet the needs of Texans and their communities while enabling long-term economic growth.”
